The McDonald Stulang DT is located within Vantage Bay, besides Foon Yew High School. Its strategic location sandwiched Jalan Sultan Ibrahim, one of the busiest road in Johor Bahru city, together with the opposite Johor Straits, ensuring an adequate amount of visitor traffic.

While a majority of the design of the fast food place is governed by the franchise identity of McDonald, SFS Architecture managed to incorporated some of the design details into the building, in addition to building code compliance. The McDonald utilizes large windows lining along the building façade to allow unobstructed visual interactions between the interior spaces and the panoramic view of the Johor Straits. Timber louvers are added at the facades to minimize heat gain from the incoming sunlight, at the same time still invites the play of light and shadow through the louvers pattern into the building. The result is a dining experience sublimated by light and shadow as well as a majestic strait view.
